I still suspect the bug is that the fbdev driver doesn't properly handle the virtual directive in SubSection "Display", but before reassigning to xserver-xorg-video-fbdev (and most likely remaining dormant at least for a while), I'd like to at least get confirmation that the fbdev driver doesn't crash without the virtual directive. Otherwise, I'm afraid we'll just have to close this report as a configuration error. P.S.
