Nahhh, that must be an out-of-date pbuilder or chroot:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~> apt-cache policy r-cran-gmodels
r-cran-gmodels:
  Installed: 2.0.8-1
  Candidate: 2.0.8-1
  Version Table:
 *** 2.0.8-1 0
         -1 http://basebud unstable/main Packages
        500 http://basebud unstable/ Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~>

(One of those two unstables is my local archive).

as well as e.g. http://packages.qa.debian.org/g/gmodels.html

I was generally trying to be careful to make sure that all four constituents
of gregmisc are installed, and in sequence as gtools depends on gdata, and
then gplots and gmodels depend on both.

Hope you agree I can close this, ok?

Cheers, Dirk
