| $ apt-get source mysql-5.1 | $ cd mysql-5.1-5.1.49/ | $ dpkg-buildpackage -b -rfakeroot | [...] | The servers were restarted 263 times | Spent 776.911 of 1570 seconds executing testcases | | Completed: Failed 2/711 tests, 99.72% were successful. | | Failing test(s): main.mysql main.mysql_upgrade | | The log files in var/log may give you some hint of what went wrong. So even the vanilla package fails (even though most likely for different reasons than the other two tests of my original report which seem to be related to misc_word_char. I suspect the test suite not to consider eventual changes - which are documented in the mysql-manual, however).
