Hello, Actually it wouldn't make sense to modify any of the pngsuite images (and keep the filename.) I'd consider it rather harmful, assuming that the original images are widespread and recognized by their filename.
Still, if per Debian guidelines this makes part of the package non-free I'm in favor of moving them to a separate package, e.g. `png++-testsuite-pngsuite.' In future we might have more test images added which could land into `png++-testsuite-basic, -extra', etc. All of them could be bound by different licensing terms and put into appropriate distribution sections.
