They're a side-effect of doing a CD-only install of squeeze (i.e. not selecting a network mirror) and selecting to install volatile (now squeeze-updates). I'm trying to see if we can make things a little better for the first point release. (yes, they're broken; that's why they get commented out, the intention isn't simply that people uncomment them and expect them to work) > #~~~~~~ cut here ~~~~~~ > > # Line commented out by installer because it failed to verify: > deb http://volatile.debian.org squeeze-updates main contrib > # Line commented out by installer because it failed to verify: > deb-src http://volatile.debian.org squeeze-updates main contrib > > #~~~~~~ cut end ~~~~~~ > > I hope this fixes the issue as we have no other report of such a failure. That won't work. squeeze-updates is carried on standard mirrors, not by volatile.d.o (which now only hosts lenny-volatile). Something like: deb http://ftp.us.debian.org squeeze-updates main contrib would be required.
