on my own ultra30, neither plzip 0.6 nor 0.7 do fail to build. on smetana.d.o, both 0.6 and 0.7 fail, whereas the buildds could build 0.6 successfully. therefore, it looks to me like an issue involving specific hardware features/combinations/configurations/$whatever of the sparc machines in question, rather than a generic sparc failure, thus lowering severity to important.
