[To gmane.editors.abiword.devel] The recent abiword 2.8.6 is problematic for Debian. Paul wise has reviewed the current release: http://lists.debian.org/debian-mentors/2010/10/msg00401.html The license of plugins/opendocument/common/xp/crypto/blowfish/ looks like it is the original BSD license with obnoxious advertising clause, which is incompatible with the GNU GPL IIRC. This is the blocker for uploading it. http://www.gnu.org/licenses/license-list.html#OriginalBSD In addition it is an embedded code copy of part of OpenSSL, the security team does not like those. This is currenly a blocker at Debian BTS: http://bugs.debian.org/602687 Developrs: - Can you also suggest how to best disable the problematic code - Could you provide an 2.8.6.x update to use alternative blowfish implementations. E.g Wei Dai's implementation from Google (found by Tony Mancill) - Or would you suggest better ways how to cope with the openSSL, GPL/BSD incompatibilities? Any help toget Abiword included in Debian stable would be appreciated, Jari -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-rc-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble?
