I just encountered this issue on a freshly install squeeze, using a CyberPower 625HG USB-connected UPS.
Glad to see the code has been repaired, however I'm not clear as to the steps required to implement the fix locally. I see a list of .deb packages at the URL mentioned on Message 15. Is it advised to wget these & dpkg -i them, or will aptitude upgrade be able to handle it in the next few days?
