Thanks for the patch. The problem doesn't occur for me (I'm guessing it's an ncurses version change that causes the crash), but I've applied the patch as it's definitely a potential problem. I'll make a new upload to unstable Real Soon Now, and try to get a freeze exception sorted so that squeeze doesn't have the problem. Thanks for reporting the bug, and taking the time to whip up a patch.
