Basically, sound is wrecked. Hum. - compiling genuine 5.6.2 source on this box using the Debian Allegro package produces a binary which runs without sound wrecked... - compiling my work in progress (upcoming 5.6.3) code with Allegro 4.2.0 seems fine.
So there must be something with the way LW is compiled/linked with Allegro within the Debian package. I need to investigate this a bit. Guess it's foundable.
