Dear Jonas,

I think we should change the default to -dSAFER ...
I think the safest is to track it as a separate bug.

Following your advice, I have now opened bug #592569 .

Hoping I will not get abused for following such advice, as I got for
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=583183#42

Ah, looking back I can imagine how my encouragement lead to your mass-bug-filing. I apologize for being too terse in my repsonse: I did expect you to still only mass-file bugs after discussion on debian-devel or other similar preparation.

I do believe this current bug-filing will not cause similar friction, because a) it is not a mass-bug-filing and b) it is filed against same package as the one where a package maintainer (me) encouraged you to do so :-)

and that it will not be rudely and wrongly closed like #583183 was in
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?msg=91;bug=583183

I disagree that the mass-filed bug was wrongly or rudely closed.

Your work filing bugreports is appreciated - even if specific bug filing might be judged as "wrong". If you do not understand the reasoning of reactions to bugreports you file, I suggest you ask for elaboration by those seemingly working against you - or try read the nice documentation at http://www.debian.org/Bugs/ which I believe covers e.g. mass-filing.

Kind regards,

 - Jonas
