Installer used on 27/06/2010 to install squeeze, which failed to install grub-2, then failed to revert to grub-legacy, so I used dd to copy /dev/zero to the disc and started again, attempting to install grub-legacy. The installer informed me that it was doing an automatic update to grub-2, which failed. The syslog showed Jun 28 05:49:48 grub-installer: Unrecognized option `-y' Jun 28 05:49:48 grub-installer: error: Running 'update-grub -y' failed.
