Hi Colin I think, i 've found the solution, why there was no stage2 file in my /boot/grub directory. Yesterday morning, i was looking around in /boot/grub and inspected the menu.lst file. There was a note, which was saying to run the upgrade-from-grub-legacy script, when grub2 is working. So i did these on yesterday morning. Today, i looked inside the /usr/sbin/upgrade-from-grub-legacy script, and found, that these script probably deleted the stage2 file.
