Even though everyone in this bug log seems to be doing this, it's unlikely actually to be the best idea, and it certainly won't help to resolve this bug. Try upgrading again; record the output from the upgrade, and send it to me; and if you see the problem again, get the value of grub-pc/install_devices using 'debconf-show grub-pc', and try running 'grub-install /dev/sda' (replacing /dev/sda with the value of grub-pc/install_devices') to see if that fixes it, as others have reported. What I really need is a way to replicate this. I've tried LVM and LVM+crypto installs in a virtual machine, upgraded to the latest version of grub-common and grub-pc, and so far have been unable to recreate this. > /usr/sbin/grub-probe: error: no mapping exists for tagesuhu-root ... probably because downgrading to 1.98-1 loses a bunch of other fixes that are relevant for LVM ... -- Colin Watson [cjwat...@debian.org] -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-rc-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
