Package: lilo Version: 1:22.8-8.1 Severity: critical Hi, after a recent upgrade of kernel image 2.6.32-5-686 on a mac mini it refuses to boot. The messages on the conole are:
LILO 22.8 Loading Linux Initial ramdisk loads below 4Mb; kernel overwrite is possible. .... . BIOS data check successful <nothing more> The update made the initramfs slightly larger. After removing the plymouth from the initramfs cutting its size down from 12Mb to about 8Mb the system boots again as expected (I also made shure it's not plymouth that breaks the boot by dropping "splash" from the kernel command line). So it seems the initramfs really overwrites parts of the kernel. Cheers, -- Guido -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-rc-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble?
