I guess you are referring to the thread starting at http://lists.debian.org/debian-legal/2010/03/msg00064.html (if not please provide a pointer). Anyway, if it's the authoritative point of view of the ftp-masters we have to deal with it somehow. What surprises me is that json.js is also in libjs-yui -- ah, it's a different file. But doing something similar?! I guess someone who has more knowledge about this javascript/JSON stuff should look into this and find a replacement -- if it's actually needed.
