About two months ago the icons started disappearing off my desktop, and I am
getting ready to move, and everything was packed and I was going to put off
a disc reboot until I moved, to see if that fixed my problem, but my mouse
started messing up as well, so this morning I dug around and found my reboot
disc and rebooted my system. I also own a HP Deskjet F4180 All-in-One,
which I have to download the HPLIP in order to connect it to the computer to
use it. When I tried to download the HPLIP, I received the error message "
9 missing dependancies - Installation of dependancies requires an active
internet connection (I have DHL). Missing REQUIRED dependancy : gcc (gcc -
GNU Project C and C++ Compiler). This install cannot install "gcc" for your
OS and/or version. Please install manually and re-run this HPLIP
installer."

All day I have been trying to find the "gcc" for my version in the Debian
files and cannot figure out what to do - it is way over my head. The phone
number for support that came with my computer is disconnected
(1-866-850-8835), and I use my computer for business purposes. I haven't
had my computer very long, and I'm VERY frustrated, PLUS I'm moving to PA in
about two months. I need this fixed NOW. What do I do? This is not my
fault!
