I don't have an amd64 machine right now, but in the amd64 sid chroot of pergolesi it builds fine. Did you try to build it inside a chroot? Can you try with a clean chroot using pbuilder, cowbuilder or sbuild, please? If it still fails, can you give me a full build log? Thank you!
