But it does not have identical behavior because it does not search in
/usr/lib/vdpau for the driver library, breaking apps that want use vdpau
(unless you add additional compatibility symlinks). See #581570.

Therefore I suggested getting rid of nvidia-libvdpau* and using only the
free libvdpau* instead:

So just install libvdpau1 (and libvdpau-dev).
