Package: netatalk
Version: 2.0.5-3
Severity: grave
Tags: squeeze
Justification: renders package unusable
I can see the linux box in the finder as expected. However when I try to mount
a volume I get an error response (Error -5014) on the mac right after the
password dialog. On the linux box I see: Program version 4.8 doesn't match
environment version 4.6 Program version 4.8 doesn't match environment version
4.6 Program version 4.8 doesn't match environment version 4.6 (afpd was
started with -d option) As you can see all dependencies are installed properly
including bdb4.8 Thanks for your help, Laurens

thanks for filing bugreports. That is really appreciated.
This one is not a bug, however, but a shortcoming of upstream code which
cause breakage each time we bump the BerkeleyDB version.
Please read /usr/share/doc/netatalk/NEWS.Debian.gz for a note regarding
the recent change that has hit you.
To get this kind of important information in the future, it is highly
recommended that you install apt-listchanges.
Also, you marked this bugreport with too high severity. It is a common
mistake, so don't be embarassed about it: The severity field serves the
_package_, not you, so a "grave" error is something that renders the
package unusable for _most_ users, not for a single or few users.
But please don't give up. Continue to file bugreports whenever you
experience problems that _might_ be a bug in the packaging or the
upstream code: It is easy to close a wrong bugreport, and can be hard to
spot actual errors :-)
I hereby close this as a non-bug. If you disagree, then simply continue
post to its email address and I we can reopen it again if relevant.
Kind regards,
- Jonas
