Stop abusing the BTS by assigning bogus severities. fetchmail does not trash external data or the system, nor does it cause data loss. The culprit has already been identified as clamassassin in bug 578953 (likely the use of perror() or equivalent in clamassassin) - so anything beyond normal would be inappropriate for fetchmail. Newer fetchmail versions support a workaround (--bad-header accept), but chances are that your MTA or MUA throw up anyways. The bug is really with another package.
