Package: alsa-source Version: 1.0.21+dfsg-2 Followup-For: Bug #531668
Bug confirmed. I can't build it on any 2.6.3x Debian kernel. :( I need to rebuild ALSA 'cause I do NEED the "snd-aloop" virtual loopback device module and that's missing from stock kernels (I submitted a specifi bug report for that too). Apart from this, the usual prayer: please keep alsa-source up to date with the LATEST source version vailable from ALSA! Normally it doesn't (shouldn't!) make really much sense to have "alsa-source" at the very same version which is already built-in in the stock kernel, does it? -- Package-specific info: --- Begin additional package status --- Desired=Unknown/Install/Remove/Purge/Hold | Status=Not/Inst/Cfg-files/Unpacked/Failed-cfg/Half-inst/trig-aWait/Trig-pend |/ Err?=(none)/Hold/Reinst-required/X=both-problems (Status,Err: uppercase=bad) ||/ Name Version Description +++-============================-============================-======================================================================== ii alsa-base 1.0.21+dfsg-2 ALSA driver configuration files ii libasound2 1.0.22-2 shared library for ALSA applications --- End additional package status --- --- Begin /proc/asound/version --- Advanced Linux Sound Architecture Driver Version 1.0.21. --- End /proc/asound/version --- --- Begin /proc/asound/cards --- 0 [Intel ]: HDA-Intel - HDA Intel HDA Intel at 0x92220000 irq 22 --- End /proc/asound/cards --- --- Begin /dev/snd/ listing --- total 0 drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 60 2010-04-14 12:07 by-path crw-rw----+ 1 root audio 116, 8 2010-04-14 12:07 controlC0 crw-rw----+ 1 root audio 116, 7 2010-04-14 12:07 hwC0D2 crw-rw----+ 1 root audio 116, 6 2010-04-14 12:10 pcmC0D0c crw-rw----+ 1 root audio 116, 5 2010-04-14 12:45 pcmC0D0p crw-rw----+ 1 root audio 116, 4 2010-04-14 12:07 pcmC0D1p crw-rw----+ 1 root audio 116, 3 2010-04-14 12:07 seq crw-rw----+ 1 root audio 116, 2 2010-04-14 12:07 timer --- End /dev/snd/ listing --- -- System Information: Debian Release: 5.0.4 APT prefers stable APT policy: (900, 'stable'), (190, 'testing'), (180, 'unstable'), (7, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.32-4-686 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages alsa-source depends on: ii bzip2 1.0.5-1 high-quality block-sorting file co ii debconf [debconf-2.0] 1.5.30 Debian configuration management sy ii debconf-utils 1.5.30 debconf utilities ii debhelper 7.4.15 helper programs for debian/rules ii dpkg-dev 1.14.29 Debian package development tools ii gcc [c-compiler] 4:4.3.2-2 The GNU C compiler ii gcc-3.4 [c-compiler] 3.4.6-9 The GNU C compiler ii gcc-4.1 [c-compiler] 4.1.2-25 The GNU C compiler ii gcc-4.3 [c-compiler] 4.3.4-8 The GNU C compiler ii make 3.81-5 The GNU version of the "make" util Versions of packages alsa-source recommends: ii fakeroot 1.11 Gives a fake root environment ii kernel-package 11.015 A utility for building Linux kerne ii linux-headers-2.6-686 [l 2.6.32+25 Header files for Linux 2.6-686 ii linux-headers-2.6.26-2-6 2.6.26-21lenny4 Header files for Linux 2.6.26-2-68 ii linux-headers-2.6.32-3-6 2.6.32-9 Header files for Linux 2.6.32-3-68 ii linux-headers-2.6.32-4-6 2.6.32-11 Header files for Linux 2.6.32-4-68 ii module-assistant 0.10.11.0 tool to make module package creati alsa-source suggests no packages.
