it was a long shot, but like I said, a planned reboot. Since .gtkrc-2.0 is being written properly now (it was a disc space issue last time, when I saw the file being written empty) but the theme still refuses to change, I'm not sure what to fix on my end or where to file a bug... but it's annoying when my Qt apps use a Motif style and my gtk apps use Oxygen.
