I tried building the latest version of the modules (195.36.15, based on the 190.53-2 Debian package, with the source updated), but ran into this same problem. I can't figure out the instructions and suggestions in this bug report, so I just ran a plain m-a on it, and it died (in exactly the same way as when I built it directly using debian/rules modules). Attached is the module-assistant log file.
What should I do to get this to work? (I need this latest version of the nvidia drivers as the new GeForce 310 card which came in my new desktop is only supported from this version of the modules.)
