The python2.3 (= 2.3.5-3) package is available in stable, which is the same suite in which python2.3-gdbm 2.3.5-3 is present. The dependencies are satisfiable within each suite; it's not a grave bug in the package just because you've allowed your system to get into an inconsistent state. Relaxing the dependency may or may not be appropriate -- that's for the maintainer to decide -- but it's not a grave bug if he doesn't. -- Steve Langasek Give me a lever long enough and a Free OS Debian Developer to set it on, and I can move the world.
