Package: avahi-daemon Version: 0.6.25-3 Severity: serious Justification: unkown
After some time, avahi-daemon hangs and no new connection to the system (ssh, nfs, etc.) is possible. I don't use avahi-daemon for anything in my network. I made a 'strace netstat' [...] connect(4, {sa_family=AF_FILE, path="/var/run/avahi-daemon/socket"}, 110^C <unfinished ...> Then I tried to stop them via initscript: Stopping Avahi mDNS/DNS-SD Daemon: avahi-daemonFailed to kill daemon: Timer expired After killing the avahi-daemon processes manually the system runs fine again. -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.32-trunk-686 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=de_DE, LC_CTYPE=de_DE (charmap=ISO-8859-1) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages avahi-daemon depends on: ii adduser 3.112 add and remove users and groups ii dbus 1.2.20-2 simple interprocess messaging syst ii host 20000331-9 utility for querying DNS servers ii libavahi-common3 0.6.25-3 Avahi common library ii libavahi-core6 0.6.25-3 Avahi's embeddable mDNS/DNS-SD lib ii libc6 2.10.2-5 Embedded GNU C Library: Shared lib ii libcap2 1:2.17-2 support for getting/setting POSIX. ii libdaemon0 0.14-2 lightweight C library for daemons ii libdbus-1-3 1.2.20-2 simple interprocess messaging syst ii libexpat1 2.0.1-7 XML parsing C library - runtime li ii lsb-base 3.2-23 Linux Standard Base 3.2 init scrip Versions of packages avahi-daemon recommends: ii libnss-mdns 0.10-3.1 NSS module for Multicast DNS name Versions of packages avahi-daemon suggests: pn avahi-autoipd <none> (no description available) -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-rc-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
