I have an uneasy feeling about using a symlinked dir or files. I looked at src/config.c and it looks easy enough to add a check for /etc/e16 just before the system config dir check in FindFile(). I can drop a README into the original dir that will point out the Debian specific change to anyone looking there. That would also allow leaving the graphic image files where they are.
