Subject: login: Cannot login as root, even set, at the console. Package: login Version: 5.0 Justification: Unusable to setup and do root related items without X windows. Severity: serious *** Please type your report below this line *** I have but one problem. I installed the 5.0 from the internet CD. Everything appears right and it boots to an X screen to login. The problem is I can not login as root, even at the console. I did answer "Do you want ROOT to login at console - YES". I can login as someone else, su to root, but many items are very difficult, if not impossible to use without an X version of the utility and quite a number, you MUST be ROOT to use them. --
