Ok.  I am going to revert to my shell scripts, which at least do full error
checking :P

Agreed. And *NOT* in C, since it is mostly a lot of string manipulation plus
nothing else...

I suspect that would be best.  Let's leave this bug open for two weeks. If
nobody shows up, I'd suggest you request the removal of the package.
