I kind of disagree here ... so what is experimental for? > I'm not suggesting doing that on your laptop. Actually I don't know about whom and where to ask. Please let me know, and I hope to remember for the switch from 2009->2010. > communicating with those package maintainers when planning disruptive > changes. Nothing new there, and because some other packages caused Honestly, I *cannot* take this job. If someone of the TeX Team can take this over, fine, but I have enough things to do. And if you insist, I am fine with giving up that bunch for adoption. > > sed -e s/texlive-latex-recommend/texlive-latex-extra/g > > on debian/control is enough? > > > Because while that's easy in one package, it means lots of work to get > the archive back to a buildable state if it affects many packages. Let us multiply by a factor of 10 (which is a lot) for not reported problems, then we are at 10 FTBFS. that is not "a lot" and I can live with that. As said, it is easy, if there is a problem just send an email and we will tell you what to do. There are enough people to answer these kind of questions here, so fixing them should be easy.
