package xml2rfc tags 506652 + pending tags 555288 + pending thanks i've prepared a package for upload into non-free that states (as clearly as i can) the state of the licensing situation, which is that the IETF doesn't appear to grant modification of its material for purposes outside the IETF process. It does grant reasonable rights for publishing unmodified, well-attributed excerpts, which is what xml2rfc does.
the packaging is available via git from
git://lair.fifthhorseman.net/~dkg/xml2rfc , and i'd be grateful for any
review or feedback.
If i find no serious problems with the pacakging in a few days, i'll
upload it to unstable/non-free, which will result in my taking over the
package from Florian.
Hopefully if the discussions with the IETF prove fruitful, the package
can be moved back into main in a future version.
