pdftk becomes unusable after latest update of libgcj-bc to version 4.4.2-2, a
downgrade to libgcj-bc_4.3.4-1 solves the issue.
pdftk aborts with the error message:

Hi Johannes,
thanks for you report.
This bug should be fixed with version 1.41+dfsg-5 that I uploaded some
hours ago. A simple rebuild of pdftk solves the problem, too.
The new version has stricter dependencies, so this bug should not occur
again.
