...but decided not to do so. Package looks very dirty: autotools-based build system is broken and can't be restored with autoreconf & co because if dirty tricks used in configure.ac, there are subversion temporary files left, etc
NMUing this particular bug with suggested workaround won't help much. Package should be either properly maintained, or removed.
