That would be fantastic. I believe this workaround (which may be
needed multiple times) might work. If you test the package on a sparc,
you can be sure.

I don't think this is an option anymore, since gcc-3.4 has been
removed from the tree, and building with gcc-4.3 is also not a good
idea.

Anyway, let's hope this fix works.
