My quick solution was to comment out the line 113 in
/usr/share/perl5/Bugzilla/DB/Mysql.pm. It looked like it tried to set the
value to 16M, which is also the value set in /etc/mysql/my.cnf, so the line
should not have much of an effect here. But I didn't study the code carefully,
and have not tested exclusively.
The mysql-server is version 5.1.37-2.
