No, from what I see this one is unintentional. I'm not quite sure about
the "unrecognised file suffix `.diff'" one though. But Scott hasn't
answered to my question about it so for now I'm assuming this is
unintentional as well (it is a bug in the packages of course but not
RC IMHO...).
