What obviously happens here is that krandrtray tries to apply the new mode and then crashes the xsession without being able to offer the 'go back' mode.
So either the xsession should not crash, or some parts of X should not offer these modes. /Sune -- Do you know how could I digit on the front-end over the fan of the tool?
