Package: bash
Version: 4.0-5
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

When I tried to install bash 4.0-5 I had the following messages:

Preparing to replace bash 4.0-4 (using .../archives/bash_4.0-5_i386.deb) ...
Unpacking replacement bash ...
Processing triggers for install-info ...
dpkg (subprocess): unable to execute installed post-installation script: No
such file or directory
dpkg: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 2
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (2)
A package failed to install. Trying to recover:
Press return to continue.

When I tried to downgrade the package in aptitude I received:

E: Sub-process /usr/bin/apt-listchanges --apt || test $? -ne 10 returned an
error code (100)
E: Failure running script /usr/bin/apt-listchanges --apt || test $? -ne 10
A package failed to install. Trying to recover:
Press return to continue.

In other words, the failed installation left one unable to spawn a new
shell. I was only able to downgrade using dpkg on an already open root shell.
