Package: libcurl-ocaml-dev Version: 0.2.0-4 Severity: serious Justification: Policy 3.5
Hi, libcurl-ocaml-dev used to depend indirectly on libssl-dev through libcurl3-dev. However, the curl package recently dropped openssl in favour of gnutls. From the 7.14.0-3 changelog of curl: * OpenSSL is replaced by GnuTLS in providing SSL support (closes: #318590). The problem is that when using ocurl, ocaml still tries to link with libssl and libssl-dev is not anymore enforced by the dependencies. See for example: http://lists.debian.org/debian-ocaml-maint/2005/08/msg00048.html The -lssl is hardcoded at the end of /usr/lib/ocaml/3.08.3/curl/curl.cm[x]a. I think the best solution is to rebuild ocurl against the gnutls-linked curl (and depend on libcurl3-dev >= 7.14.0-3). Thanks.
