Hi.

There is already a packaged version of the rt73 firmware in
firmware-ralink. update-rt73-firmware provides a convenient way to
download and install a newer, unpackaged version. Unfortunately there
is no way to verify an arbitrary new version of the firmware.
Why not? You could add include hashsums in your update-rt73 tool and complain if they don't match?

Of course you'd have to update the package every time a new version comes out,.. but I think the effort for this is little, as you only have to change the hashsums,... and the benefit is high,... as users would be noticed for updates (which potentially include security related updates)

Regards,
Chris.
