I'm on amd64 too, and it works for me as packaged. I'm using a Wacom Graphire3. There is a warning as it starts up: /usr/share/mypaint/lib/helpers.py:92: DeprecationWarning: PyArray_FromDimsAndDataAndDescr: use PyArray_NewFromDescr.
