That's really weird.

Is /usr/bin/perl really missing or is it one of the libraries it links to?

What's the output of 'ldd /usr/bin/perl' and 'ldd /usr/lib/libperl.so.5.10' ?

Everything needed for /usr/bin/perl should obviosly be in perl-base
(and libc6, which it Pre-Depends on.)
