I don't know, $dpkg -S /usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/gammu/ dpkg: /usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/gammu not found. I have just upgraded from Debian Lenny with wammu installed during the dist-upgrade. This directory is created in Debian Lenny when installing wammu (by python-gammu thats have a file in this directory (Core.so) ) witch is removed when purging python-gammu. On Debian Squeeze this directory seem to be not removed during the upgrade. So I remove this directory and now wammu work, even after reinstalling it, this directory is not created.
