When trying "apt-get install nagios2" in a clean Debian Lenny install you'll get: The following packages have unmet dependencies: nagios2: Depends: libperl5.8 (>= 5.8.8) but it is not going to be installed E: Broken packages the try "apt-get install libperl5.8" and you'll get: The following packages have unmet dependencies: libperl5.8: Depends: perl-base (= 5.8.8-11.1+lenny1) but 5.10.0-19 is to be installed E: Broken packages and I see that perl-base version is 5.10: nagios-safeview:~# apt-cache show perl-base Package: perl-base Essential: yes Priority: required Section: perl Installed-Size: 4089 Maintainer: Brendan O'Dea <b...@debian.org> Architecture: i386 Source: perl Version: 5.10.0-19 I see that in other architectures (not i386) this dependency doesn't exist.
