Package: network-manager-openvpn
Version: 0.7.1-1
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

After upgrading knetworkmanager to 0.7.1-1 is not able to initiate an openvpn connection any more.

So, are you using network-manager-gnome or network-manager-kde
(knetworkmanager), because for knetworkmanager there is no version 0.7.1-1?

Michael
You are right: network-manager (-gnome and -openvpn) are 0.7.1-1. -kde is version 1:0.7~~svn941706-1.

Actually, when I start a gnome session network-manager-gnome starts and works fine.

When I start a kde4 session knetworkmanager starts, and works more or less except for the openvpn plug in. A (tedious) workaround is to kill knetworkmanager, start a second session in gnome, use network-manager-gnome to create a openvpn connection and then switch back (ctrl-alt-F7) to the kde4 session.

This is reflected by the syslog lines reported earlier.

A less cumbersome workaround for the time being would be highly appreciated.

Thanks so much,

Ferry
