In general, it should work to run autoreconf -ifv (instead of the autogen.sh 
you're using currently, which looks broken because it doesn't appear to run 
aclocal or libtoolize).  Otherwise, you would need to run aclocal to update 
the autoconf macros, libtoolize --force --copy to update ltmain.sh, then 
automake and autoconf to incorporate the updates to the autoconf macros from 
libtool.  In a worst case scenario, if for some reason the package-specific 
macros are only in aclocal.m4, you might even need to edit aclocal.m4 to 
remove the old libtool macros from it and insert the new ones -- but that is 
fairly unlikely.

If you need, I should have more time this weekend to look into the package.
