Package: usbip Version: 0.1.7-2 Severity: grave Justification: renders package unusable
I compiled the usbip modules in the current vanilla linux kernel, under the staging drivers tree, and loaded it. i then installed the debian package for usbip but, when launching both the daemon and the client i get an error being not able to open a socket and not finding the usb.ids file. By looking at the sources i found that it needed a usb.ids file shipped in the svn repository and added it in /usr/share/hwdata (a directory i had to create) and then the package worked. -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.29-wl (SMP w/2 CPU cores; PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=it_IT, LC_CTYPE=it_IT (charmap=ISO-8859-1) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages usbip depends on: ii libc6 2.9-6 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libglib2.0-0 2.20.0-2 The GLib library of C routines ii libsysfs2 2.1.0-5 interface library to sysfs ii libusbip0 0.1.7-2 USB device sharing system over IP ii usbutils 0.73-10 Linux USB utilities usbip recommends no packages. usbip suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-rc-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
