Hi Markus,

I closed your empty bug #521734 because before sending this bugreport
(#522437),
you have not answered my mail [0] which was asking for further information.
Please follow up the bugs you report!

By the way, a bug for a program that is "just not working" is absolutely not
of "critical" severity, which is reserved for a bug that
"makes unrelated software on the system (or the whole system) break, or
causes
serious data loss, or introduces a security hole on systems where you
install
        the package." [1]
which is obviously not the case. I did set "important".

Regarding your actual bug, note that since 0.9.6-2, it should not be necessary
to run usb-modeswitch manually, due to generated udev rules put
under /etc/udev/rules.d/.

For me to get a better view of what you are doing and what could cause the bug,
could you please remove /etc/udev/rules.d/usb_modeswitch.rules (you'll be able
to get it back afterwards by reinstalling usb-modeswitch) and plug your device
in. Could you then please provide the exact command you were running and its
output (if possible under 2.6.28 and 2.6.29) ?

Thanks in advance, best regards,

OdyX
