Before reassigning the bug to python-apt, I would like to get the opinion of the python-apt maintainers, hence I'm Cc-ing them. I see that the python-apt method that throws an exception (the rawDescription property) also throws a DeprecationWarning. Dear python-apt developer(s), if this exception is a bug, fine, let's see how to fix it. If it is intended behaviour, I would appreciate it if you would proactively inform reverse dependency maintainers before introducing changes that would drag me to stay up overnight because after your change apt-xapian-index is throwing exception at people after every apt-get dist-upgrade, or via cron once a week.
