Package: mondo Version: 1:2.2.7-2 Severity: grave The high severity is due to this bug rendering the package unusable.
At the version 2.2.7-2, mondo & mindo only declare a dependency on cdrkit-based utilities like genisoimage and wodim. Unfortunately, with only these packages installed, a call to mondoarchive bombs with the following message: - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Please install 'cdrecord'. I cannot find it on your system. There may be hyperlink at http://www.mondorescue.com which will take you to the relevant (missing) package. Failed. Fatal error... Please review the error messages above, make the specified changes, then try again. Exiting... - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - So, the lack of cdrecord (which I read on the changelog that you substituted by wodim, but it still checks for cdrecord) makes it refuse to run, *EVEN* if I am only generating ISO images (to burn on another system). Please, if cdrecord is indeed required, make sure that mindi/mondo depend on the wrapper, but, better yet, make it be intelligent enough to recognize wodim as an alternative to cdrecord. And, if possible, make it ignore cdrecord/wodim if the user specifies the "-Oi" command line option. Regards, Rogério Brito. P.S.: The log file that mondo generates is a complete mess and very hard to read. Would you want a helping hand on reformatting such messages? Also, some "funny" messages (and function names) aren't funny at all, especially when you're having a hard time restoring backups. They seem like the program author is being sarcastic regarding its function. -- Package-specific info: -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.29-rc6-2 (SMP w/2 CPU cores; PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=en_US.utf-8, LC_CTYPE=pt_BR.utf-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages mondo depends on: ii afio 2.5-5 archive file manipulation program ii buffer 1.19-10 Buffering/reblocking program for t ii libc6 2.9-5 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libfribidi0 0.10.9-1 Free Implementation of the Unicode ii libnewt0.52 0.52.2-11.3 Not Erik's Windowing Toolkit - tex ii lzop 1.02~rc1-2 fast compression program ii mindi 1:2.0.4-1 creates boot/root disks based on y ii wodim 9:1.1.9-1 command line CD/DVD writing tool Versions of packages mondo recommends: ii dvd+rw-tools 7.1-4 DVD+-RW/R tools Versions of packages mondo suggests: pn mondo-doc <none> (no description available) Versions of packages mindi depends on: ii binutils 2.19.1-1 The GNU assembler, linker and bina ii bzip2 1.0.5-1 high-quality block-sorting file co ii dosfstools 3.0.2-1 utilities for making and checking ii file 4.26-2 Determines file type using "magic" ii gawk 1:3.1.5.dfsg-4.1 GNU awk, a pattern scanning and pr ii genisoimage 9:1.1.9-1 Creates ISO-9660 CD-ROM filesystem ii mindi-busybox 1.2.1-4 Collection of shell utilities in a ii module-init-to 3.7-pre5-1 tools for managing Linux kernel mo ii nano 2.0.7-4 free Pico clone with some new feat ii parted 1.8.8.git.2008.03.24-11.1 The GNU Parted disk partition resi ii syslinux 2:3.73+dfsg-2 utilities for the syslinux bootloa -- no debconf information -- Rogério Brito : rbr...@{mackenzie,ime.usp}.br : GPG key 1024D/7C2CAEB8 http://www.ime.usp.br/~rbrito : http://meusite.mackenzie.com.br/rbrito Projects: algorithms.berlios.de : lame.sf.net : vrms.alioth.debian.org -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-rc-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
